Farewell Chris Squire

Posted by zakala on Jul 1, 2015 in Music news

Lovecommandos note the sad passing of legendary Yes bassist Chris Squire after a short battle with a rare form of leuchemia. As a master of the prog rock bass line and only member to play on every one of Yes’ studio albums Chris was a core component of their sound.

Renowned for playing his 1964 Rickenbacker in a higher register than most rock bassists, Squire’s sound influenced many other players, notably John Entwhistle of The Who.

Christopher Russell Edward Squire, musician and composer, born 4 March 1948; died 27 June 2015. Sir, we salute you!
