Emotional Downtime
Sometimes it’s all too strong for me,
I need some solitude
What more of us can I say,
Yet you again intrude?
I need a clearer vision,
A rational defence;
Too close to differentiate,
Too shy of my intent.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
A brighter sun this morning;
I didn’t see the rain.
Sometimes, absorbed by beauty,
We overlook the pain
This little town is lonely
And this little town is harsh –
The bright lights only dazzle me and
Fail to guide my heart.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
Playing with your fantasies
And toying with your thoughts:
A kind of mental voyerism
I hope I don’t get caught.
These night-thoughts torment me,
An already tortured mind;
An intellectual sex appeal,
You’re another of my kind.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.

In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
In between,
Living on the culture-line,
Life on the margin
Is emotional downtime.
In between!
