Now that Christmas and New Year is out of the way and Private Price has been repatriated back to Blighty, the Love Commandos have been busy in the bunker creating new sounds to stun and stupify. Two new tracks have already been started. One sounds, we are told, something like Foo Fighters vs The Fratellis, which we found an intriguing description. We just call it music.

The Shed in Leicester is confirmed as a future site of the ongoing aural campaign – 20th November 2011

Love Commandos have found time to add some new songs to their repertoire, notably “Sex on Fire” by The Kings of Leon and “The Bitter End” by Placebo. While the summer holidays are on the horizon the Commandos are practicing hard for a private gig in October.

“Siren” received four hearts in Black Velvet‘s review in issue 67. Siren is described as “highly reflective of a band that doesn’t take itself too seriously yet can still pack an enjoyable punch.” Apart from the review of “Siren” issue 67 has articles on Sum 41 Piggy D (Rob Zombie) and Bowling for Soup amongst many others. Black Velvet, an excellent independent rock magazine produced in the Midlands, is available quarterly.

11 02 2011 has arrived and, now based in the mystical town of Glastonbury, Druidspear have returned. Previously based in Birmingham, a new line-up played at Glastonbury festival last year under the pseudonym Avalon by Bus. Following that success frontman James Binning has relaunched Druidspear with a new website, enabling fans old and new to listen to their extensive back catalogue as well as the previously unheard album “Return of the Broken Sorcerer”. http://www.druidspear.com

The Love Commandos are sad to note the sudden death of seminal rock and blues guitarist Gary Moore. Moore played with Skid Row and Thin Lizzy as well as having a successful solo career that produced twenty studio albums. Admired by other musicians, Moore was best known for his UK top ten hits “Out in the Fields” and “Parisienne Walkways”.

While the Love Commandos take a short winter break, news has reached Love Commandos HQ of something stirring in Somerset. It seems that Druidspear have appeared in disguise and that they now have a new website ready for launch on 11/02/2011.
