Andy had plum sauce in his beard

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Sep 29, 2000 in Band news

Andy had plum sauce in his beard.

Invaded Jim’s shop again to record some basic tracks so we did. The basis of &quotRedline” and &quotInto Dust (Take It All Away)” were recorded.

Back in the rehearsal studio again next week to practice for Chalky’s bash.

Ken's Hair

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Sep 22, 2000 in Band news

Ken’s Hair.

Started work on “Rock Is Dead” by Marilyn Manson. Should be a stormer if initial indications are to be believed.

“Suck My Cow Pat” coming along very nicely indeed

Rob suggested playing the whole of “Misplaced Childhood” by Marillion. Jon said that he would prefer Jethro Tull’s “Thick As A Brick”. Neil said that he was game for either but that we would have to pull in a whole different audience. At least you can’t say that we are not ambitious.

First search engine to respond to listing request. See http://www.ukplus.com and search for “Love Commandos” .

Almost playing a last minute gig

Posted by zakala on Sep 15, 2000 in Band news

After almost playing a last minute gig we knuckled down to more serious pursuits like deciding how committed Andy was to the Wonderwoman theme song.   “Suck MyCow Pat” moved forward but still lacks any words whatsoever. The Masked Marauder turned himself in after overwhelming evidence as to his identity. No more shall he haunt the guest book with his music trivia challenges. He would have gotten away with it too if it hadn’t been for those pesky kids. Much talk of who would be who in both the A-Team and Play School. Any other suggestions for TV series and who should be who gratefully received. We may even publish them. Table included below for both the A-Team and Play School.

Band Member A-Team Play School
Jon Attfield B.A. Baracus Big Ted
Rob Bates Hannibal Little Ted
Ken Bearman Amy Hamble
Neil Horsburgh Face Humpty
Andrew Hubble Howling Mad Murdoch Jemima

The rumoured December gig has been removed from the schedule.

Suck My Cow Pat

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Sep 8, 2000 in Band news

After having a week off, we all met in Jim’s shop where we proceeded to improve mightily on that week’s takings. Eventually heading upstairs ( to the cosy High Horse Studio), we started to write what will become our fifth original song. Not that we have either finished or learned the other four yet. Current title (courtesy of Master Hubble) is “Suck My Cow Pat” or something approximating that. Not sure where the punctuation should be.

It would also seem that our presence may be required at yet another gig. At this rate, we will be playing three before Christmas bringing this year’s grand total to seven I believe. Now that is what I call news.

Preparations for our first demo continue

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Aug 25, 2000 in Band news

Preparations for our first demo continue with the refinement of our own material. The current plan is to lay down some basic tracks within the next month. There will probably be four or five tracks on the disc which we hope to sell at gigs. (Alternatively we will never run out of shiny beer mats). To this end we are preparing to play a gig in November to try out the material.

Our version of “Sex Type Thing” is sounding almost complete. Andy suggested that the Sacred Reich version of “War Pigs” would probably suit us better than the Black Sabbath version. The jury is currently out and may require to be put up in hotels for a number of weeks on this one.
