Rare Love Commandos Footage

Posted by admin on Aug 26, 2009 in Band news

Some footage of The Love Commandos recording “Siren” has been posted on the Siren page. The quality isn’t great, but it gives you an idea of how we recorded the basic tracks (click track and all). We then overdubbed tracks where necessary, such as vocal tracks and guitar solos.

The Aircon is Broken Again!

Posted by zakala on Aug 15, 2009 in Band news

Another very hot session, but sadly not purely metaphorical as the rehearsal room aircon is being less than accommodating again.

Ken has some new technology (Pod X3 Live) and a new haircut which reminds Andy of a character from South Park. Sadly it’s Big Gay Al.

Trouble with the mixing desk delayed the start as does Ken’s inability to make the new tech work. After some cursing and frantic knob twiddling we get a sound and Ken promises to read the manual. The general concensus is that some time needs to be spent developing some tailored patches as the presets are just too over the top for live use.

We ran through the second half of our extensive song list and most tracks sounded pretty good, though more work is still needed on our rendition of “Just a Day”.

Almost annual update of Gigs, and Guest Replies. Two gigs in one month. Sure that I read something about that in the Book of Revelations…

Jon's Departure

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Dec 5, 2005 in Band news

Jon has now left for Canada. In spite of the rather large shoes that Jon wore, we have replaced him with a chap called Richard Price. Richard has added his biography info including some rather embarrassing photos. Richard has already been seen to move whilst playing the guitar. We didn’t think that it was possible to both move and play at the same time. Wonders may never cease.

Richard's first appearance on stage as a fully fledged commando.

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Oct 3, 2005 in Band news

Lawks a mussy. Once again Chalky has dragged us kicking and screaming from the apathetic haze surrounding our Friday night reveries to help him celebrate his birthday and by jove we will. This will also be Richard’s first appearance on stage (or probably more likely edge of room) as a fully fledged commando.

The Love Commandos have also been involved in a recording. Granted that it has nothing to do with their own material but is instead a charidee record to support the charity that Mr. Price is the treasurer of. The CD is a celebration of the nonsense work of Edward Lear. Just be thankful that it doesn’t include any of his limericks. More information available on the Histiocytosis Reasearch Trust site.
