As a master of the prog rock bass line and only member to play on every one of Yes&#8217; studio albums Chris was a core component of their sound.<\/p>\n<p>Renowned for playing his 1964 Rickenbacker in a higher register than most rock bassists, Squire&#8217;s sound influenced many other players, notably John Entwhistle of The Who.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Guardian Text Egyptian Web', Georgia, serif; font-size: medium;\">Christopher Russell Edward Squire, musician and composer, born 4 March 1948; died 27 June 2015.
