The post Green (Fingered) Day first appeared on Love Commandos.]]> Strangely this week’s rehearsal entered unusual territory for the Love Commandos – somehow the conversation turned to matters horticultural and sounded more like Gardeners’ World than loud rock music.
Luckily we exhausted our knowledge of gardening pretty quickly (Ken’s idea of gardening is to lay astro turf) and we got back to playing loud rock music.
The new covers are coming along nicely and we also ran through another bunch of tracks we haven’t played for a while. There was also some suggestion that we should, perhaps, attempt “Fat-bottomed Girls” by Queen as it is both a timeless classic and probably the only Queen song that doesn’t mandate the immense vocal range of Freddie Mercury.
We are still awaiting news of the CD production, but hopefully it won’t be much longer…

The post Suck My Cow Pat first appeared on Love Commandos.]]> After having a week off, we all met in Jim’s shop where we proceeded to improve mightily on that week’s takings. Eventually heading upstairs ( to the cosy High Horse Studio), we started to write what will become our fifth original song. Not that we have either finished or learned the other four yet. Current title (courtesy of Master Hubble) is “Suck My Cow Pat” or something approximating that. Not sure where the punctuation should be.

It would also seem that our presence may be required at yet another gig. At this rate, we will be playing three before Christmas bringing this year’s grand total to seven I believe. Now that is what I call news.
