11 02 2011 has arrived and, now based in the mystical town of Glastonbury, Druidspear have returned. Previously based in Birmingham, a new line-up played at Glastonbury festival last year under the pseudonym Avalon by Bus. Following that success frontman James Binning has relaunched Druidspear with a new website, enabling fans old and new to listen to their extensive back catalogue as well as the previously unheard album “Return of the Broken Sorcerer”. http://www.druidspear.com

While the Love Commandos take a short winter break, news has reached Love Commandos HQ of something stirring in Somerset. It seems that Druidspear have appeared in disguise and that they now have a new website ready for launch on 11/02/2011.
Best wishes to them in their new incarnation from the Love Commandos – we hope to play with you soon – especially if you can get us on at Glastonbury

The new website is now up and running with a new landing page, design and several years of our old content migrated by hand by our team of experienced web designers (aka Ken).
We hope you enjoy the new “Love Commandos Experience”. Now all we have to do is wrap up the album and get out and play some loud rock music at gigs!

I found your website because I was looking for something else. I will probably never see you perform, talk to you, or meet you, because I live about as far away from you as you can get. But I was scanning through in search of my original topic and felt compelled to write after I saw all your self-deprecating comments about your song lyrics. Okay, maybe i haven’t heard the songs, and hell, maybe they DO suck! But frankly I liked a lot of the lyrics and felt more to feed on there than I have in most of the mainstream stuff that is usually la-la-la-la’ing on the radio. So I think you should post the lyrics and let them be. I mean, if you are going to post them at all, don’t bloody apologize. Just let your audience make the decision. And believe me, someone will find something in there to move them. And if they find something in there that has meaning, and then you insult your own work, it pretty much insults the person absorbing it too. So, good luck, good work, (Westley…I’ll most likely kill you in the morning :)…you’re in a band – understand you’re a part of the only real religious experience most Westerners have these days, and behave with respect for the gift you have.

Played last gig of the year

Happy Birthday to our website. It has now been live for over one year.

Brand new gig information. Love Commandos plus special guests Cage to appear at the Flapper & Firkin in Birmingham on Tuesday 20th November 2001. This will probably be our last gig of 2001 so we would like to see as many people there as possible. We will hopefully be playing a lot of new material. We will also be recording the evening for possible live CD release so this is your chance to make yourself heard.

Mr. Jones and American Girl have been relegated from the potential set lists as we feel that, although they are both great songs, they no longer fit into our set.
