Now with more words!

Posted by zakala on Apr 5, 2010 in Album news

Lyrics for the final four songs on Siren have been added on the lyrics page. So now you can find out what it is that Neil is singing over the drums, guitars, bass and occasional keyboards. There’s even a little bit of German in the mix, though we admit that it may not be entirely grammatically accurate. We blame artistic license. Well, they shouldn’t have given us one if they didn’t want us to use it.

They have only gone and bleeding done it

Posted by Neil Horsburgh on Mar 20, 2010 in Album news, Band news

I have seen it with my own eyes, held it in my own hands, listened to it with my own ears, sniffed it with my own nose and licked every single one with my own tongue. Yes, the Love Commandos album has finally arrived, now with added saliva.

The artwork has gone off!

Posted by zakala on Feb 8, 2010 in Band news

Incredulity abounded as Ken finally announced that the CD artwork for “Siren” was finally completed and had gone off to Sound Recording Technology along with the outstanding paperwork. Questions were raised about whether it was rotten or had exploded or both (neither as it turns out). This is the last but one step in the pre-production process. Once we have approved the final art proofs (and paid the outstanding balance) the CD can be sent to the presses. Some time after we will take delivery of a thousand CDs.
It’s taken longer than we would have liked, but given the part-time nature of everyone involved it’s hardly surprising. Changing artwork direction several times didn’t really help, but we’re all happy with the final choices and we’ve preserved some of the original ideas.
Friday’s rehearsal was spent practising the new covers and remembering how to play some of the old ones including Marilyn Manson’s “Fight Song”. A new set list was mentioned as was arranging some gigs.
